The Longhoughton Village Development Trust (LVDT) is a registered Charity Commission approved organisation that exists for this charitable purpose. LVDT has completed full incorporation and has already set up a limited company entity registered with Companies House. The Charity Commission has considered the company's Memorandum & Articles (Mem & Arts) for the purpose of registering the new legal entity as a Charitable Company Limited by Guarantee and that has now taken place.

The Trustees of the company are also defined as Directors under company law and details of the current Trustee/Directors can be found to the right. The first Annual General Meeting of the company was held on 22nd June 2011.

LVDT exists as an umbrella organisation with the potential to be involved in any matters in which it is permitted to take an interest by the Charity Commission which may result in benefit to the community defined within the area of benefit of Longhoughton and district.

Annual membership of LVDT Limited entitles members to stand for election as a Trustee/Director, to nominate candidates, and to vote at General Meetings. There is a membership fee of £1 per year to cover administrative costs. The next Annual General Meeting will be held in June 2012.
